Girls Basketball Lead Scorer
Congratulations to Lady Ram Viviana Casildo for being recoginized as the lead scorer for girls basketball small schools and to Coach Darnell Thomas for his hard work and dedication to the Lady Rams Girls Basketball team.

Rockets and Physics
While studying energy and momentum, teams of Physics students at ATA were responsible for designing, constructing, and testing water rockets. This project required students to think critically, to collect experimental data, and to document their findings in college-level lab reports. The video clip shows student work throughout the project, from conceptual design through experimental testing. The Physics students really enjoyed this hands-on experience and mastered the scientific content as a result of this project.
Perfect Attendance/Honor Roll
A total of 13 students were honor by the PTO with a pizza party for having Perfect Attendance for the first nine weeks. A total of 86 students made the Honor Roll for the first nine weeks and will be honored at the Breakfast of Champions.
New Tech Demonstration Site
Algiers Technology Academy has been named a National Demonstration Site for the New Tech Network. ATA is one of two demonstration sites in Louisiana. The school will host site visits from various schools across the nation that are interested in replicating the model.
Teacher of the Year 2010 - Ms. D. Robinson
Ms. Danica Robinson was named teacher of the year for the 2009-2010 school year. Ms. Robinson serves as one of the math teachers and the school and also serves as a mentor teacher for the Teacher Advancement Program. Ms. Robinson has been teaching for 5 years and has a Master's Degree in Mathematics from LSU.
Speech & Debate
Montoya Williams and Jordan Wofford competed throughout the 2009-2010 school with students throughout the metropolitan area. Ms. Williams and Mr. Wofford were recognized as part of the TOP 5 in the city and were invited to participate in the national competition in Omaha, Nebraska from May 28 - 31, 2010.
